BC Innovation Council: Tips from the trenches

SkookumScript and Agog Labs were mentioned in the BC Innovation Council’s blog “Tips From the Trenches”: 4 Things Graham Truax Taught Me About Entrepreneurship.

Agog Labs Inc. is a member of the BC Innovation Council’s BC Venture Acceleration Program, which is managed locally through Innovation Island. Graham Truax is the Executive in Residence at Agog Labs, and he has given lots of great advice. The BC Venture Acceleration Program gives business feedback, mentorship from other entrepreneurs, arranges training programs and tickets to industry conferences, and lots more. Agog Labs and SkookumScript have greatly benefited from participating in this program.

Innovation Island also helped sponsor the North Island Digital Media Symposium in April 28, 2013 at Qualicum Beach B.C., where I presented a talk about the creation of SkookumScript and my time in the video game industry. This symposium really opened my eyes to the burgeoning video game industry in our area.
